Description
Too Many Bones brings you into a tactical dice driven adventure filled with humor tension and meaningful choices. You take on the roles of the Gearlocs cheeky gnome like heroes who must work together to defend their homeland against brutal invaders. Every step of the journey presents new encounters challenging battles and difficult decisions that shape the outcome of your quest.
At the heart of the game are tactical battles fully driven by dice. Each Gearloc ability is represented by its own die which is unlocked over the course of the game. This allows every character to develop in a unique way offering very different specializations ranging from raw power to clever support skills. On your turn you roll the dice and must make the most of the results even when the outcome does not seem helpful at first glance.
A defining feature of the game are the bone dice. When they show bones they initially count as a failure. However if you collect enough of them you can unleash some of your most powerful abilities turning the tide of battle. Risk and reward are tightly linked creating dramatic and memorable moments.
Between battles you are constantly faced with decisions that influence the campaign. Choosing easier encounters results in fewer rewards while taking on harder challenges can grant powerful loot and faster growth but failure is always a real possibility. After a series of encounters you finally face one of the fearsome Tyrants and must prove whether your Gearlocs and your tactical skills are strong enough to prevail.
Too Many Bones is a deep cooperative experience for groups who enjoy tactical challenges and rich character progression. Every game tells its own story and no two adventures ever play out the same way.
